Title:"MULTIALGORITHMS: A NEW PARADIGM FOR OPTIMIZATION"
Abstract:A new algorithmic paradigm for optimization that is rooted in Darwinian population-based ideas of evolutionary biology is presented. A detailed case study based on a two-parameter CG family is described, along with computational experiments on a (simulated) multiple-instruction multiple-data (MIMD) machine. Broader implications for optimization and nonlinear equation-solving algorithms in general are then considered.
