TITLE: Two Special Lectures on the work of Timothy Gowers

ABSTRACT: A few years ago Timothy Gowers won a long standing R. Graham's offer of $1000 by proving that TOWER is an upper bound on van der Waerden's function. Gowers describes his method in the paper "Fourier Analysis and Szemeredi's Theorem", that I will present.
