What is the nature of mathematics?

  • Complicated games with symbols and operators?

  • An a priori body of purely logical construction?

  • Procedures and techniques defined by the physical world?

  • Objective universe of mathematical entities?


Mathematics is, in analogy to the physical sciences, the objective science of a universe of abstracted entities which are not causally connected to the physical universe.
