"Creating an independent electronic journal"
Abstract
This presentation will describe the genesis, development and prospects of the first purely electronic, peer-reviewed scientific journal published from Canada: Theory and Applications of Categories. The journal began publication in early 1995. The most recent volume contains 23 articles and about 600pp.
The narrative will be accompanied by:
comment on the changing context of scientific communication as seen from the perspective of an e-journal publisher
remarks on the development of related internet services and their uses and effects will be offered.
