Bernice E. Rogowitz manages the Exploratory Visualization Group at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. This group studies problems in data visualization and data mining (scientific and commercial), intelligent systems, and user interface design.

Dr. Rogowitz earned her Ph.D. at Columbia University in Experimental Psychology, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in the Laboratory of Psychophysics at Harvard University. At the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, she established and managed a Vision Science Group which investigated various topics in vision related to image technology. She also formed the Exploratory Visualization group, whose goal is to advance the state-of-the-art in interactive workstation-based systems by matching technology to human perceptual and cognitive capabilities.
